1st Birthday Portrait Sessions
We get asked so often about our 1st Birthday Sessions and Cake Smashes that I thought I would write a quick blog post to help answer some of your questions and give you some more information about what to expect when celebrating your little one's special birthday with us.
Our 1st Birthday Sessions are great fun and really popular. We recommend booking your session as soon as possible to avoid disappointment as we can get booked quite far in advance.
These sessions are not all about the cake! We like to start with some classic portraits to really capture your baby naturally and show their progress at this stage in their lives. You are welcome to bring along a favourite outfit you may have for them as well as any toys that they love. We have plenty of props as well as a collection of outfits for you to choose from if you wish to.
If you book your session just after your baby's 1st birthday then it's nice if you would like to bring along some of the cards and toys they had for their birthday to personalise their session. We will then have some birthday fun with balloons and birthday themed props. We have a fab collection of handmade birthday themed outfits and accessories that our clients love to use during the cake smash section of the photo shoot. That way you don't have to worry about washing and cleaning up afterwards.....leave that to us. We have a large and ever growing collection of outfits for different themes and styles but if you have something in particular in mind, just ask us and we can create something exclusive for you.
After the messy play with the cake smash, it's time to get clean and have a fun in the bath. Bubbles and lots of splashing mean that this is often your baby's favourite part of their portrait session and we get some great candid photographs. Our studio is lovely and warm and we have big fluffy towels to keep your baby cosy and dry them off.
And that's a wrap!..... just time to book you in to come back and see all your finished portraits. We have lots of products and packages that are perfect for showcasing these special memories for you and I promise to help you as it's not easy narrowing down the portraits to your favourites.
Our 1st Birthday Sessions are currently £40 and that includes the full session, use of all props and outfits, the cake and a beautiful mounted 10x8 portrait. Not too shabby hey?
